drawings of dragon kiln

13 11 2008

Tomorrow my friends and I will be very busy with the wood firing at the Dragon Kiln. Carol and I will be on duty tomorrow for 2 slots from 2pm to 8pm and the next slot from 8pm to 2am. The two young men will take the midnight slot. I will also help out on Saturday morning but will have to leave in the afternoon. All of us will be at the Dragon Kiln on Sunday from 8.30am to 9.00pm taking turn to fire through the stoke holes for five chambers. Salting will be done on 2nd, 3rd and 4th stoke holes only. We will also try throwing some copper carbonate into one or two stoke holes for special effects.

Before I am able to put up some pictures on the wood firing process in the next few days, perhaps it is timely to show drawings of Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle I did in the past.

This was done after the renovation on 4 Nov 2007.

This was the first drawing I did on 15 Nov 2003.
Notice the big kick wheel which is probably the only one left in Singapore.

This exterior drawing was done sitting under the banyan tree, Jan 2004.
